How to gain respect | Happiness Wisdom
“People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
If you want to gain respect from others, it is important that you respect them first. It is not what you do to others or says to them, but what’s important is how to treat them. How you approach them and make them feel is what people remember. Use kind words and be kind to others.
Forgiveness | Happiness Wisdom
“Resentment is like drinking poison and then hoping it will kill your enemies.”

Resentment is a complex feeling that includes disappointment, disgust, anger, and fear. It affects you more than it affects others. In order to be happy, learn to forgive and the feeling of resentment will subside.

Time is currency
“Time is free, but it’s priceless. You can’t own it, but you can use it. You can’t keep it, but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it you can never get it back.” – Harvey Mackay
Time is currency. Let’s assume you live to be 75 years, then you 27,375 days total, or 1,642,500 hours. The point is you have an expiration on time. Use this time currency wisely. For every minute you are angry or resentful, you lose sixty seconds of happiness.
Mind and Memory Boosters (MMBs)
At first, the answer to last week’s MMB #5.
The question was:
Q5: John is half as old as Andy was when Andy was five years older than John is now. How old is John now?
A5: John is 5 years old.
Translate words to math. “Andy was five years older than John is now” translates to a = 5 + T, where a is the age that Andy was. Now translate again. John is half as old as Andy was: T =
(1/2)a. Substitute for a:
T = (1/2)(5 + T).
2T = 5 + T,
T = 5.
So, John is 5 years old.

MMB#6: If there are twenty-four people at a party and each person shakes another person’s hand, how many handshakes are there?
